Karnal: Four youths fell into the canal after losing balance while riding bikes near Picholia canal, with three, including two brothers, dying due to drowning. A passerby coming through the canal tried to save everyone, but was only able to pull one young man out safely. The accident occurred late Wednesday evening around 8 p.m. After the accident, a search operation was carried out by the police and a diving team. After about two hours of hard work, the bodies of the three deceased students were recovered from the canal. Police took possession of all three bodies and sent them for autopsy. Police conducted postmortem on the bodies at Kalpana Chawla Medical College and handed them over to family members.
The four youths who were victims of the accident were students and were on their way home from Karnal. As soon as he reached the village of Aichla, the bike lost its balance and fell onto the canal bank, causing all four young people to drown in the canal. All the friends held each other’s hands, forming a chain and trying to pull them out of the canal. But one by one the young people lost each other’s hands and within a very short time all three friends drowned in the canal. Villagers said that Ritesh was a student of Dayal Singh College. Ritesh has an elder brother. Dipanshu and Sahil are cousins. Dipanshu and Sahil also have a brother each. This incident has caused great sadness to the family. There is sadness in the family and in the entire village. Late Ritesh’s uncle Lakshya said that Ritesh, Deepanshu and Sahil went to college together. When four youths fell into the canal, a plant ended up in Sahil’s hand. All four tried to save each other by holding hands, but suddenly the plant broke from Sahil’s hand and all four youths drowned in the canal. Himanshu was safely pulled out of the canal while Ritesh, Deepanshu and Sahil drowned in the canal.

Family members and relatives of the deceased said that Ritesh, Deepanshu and Sahil were studying in the college. Ritesh was a student at Dayal Singh College and Dipanshu completed his BA degree at Pandit Chiranji Lal College. Sahil did islands besides college. It is said that Sahil was preparing to go abroad. Sahil’s work was also due now and Ritesh and Deepanshu wanted to stay and serve in the country, but something else was acceptable. DSP Naib Singh said four youths were traveling on bikes from Karnal to their village Aichla. During this time, a pothole appeared, the bike went out of control and fell. Four young people fell into the canal. Three young people drowned in the canal. A young man was brought out safely. The three teenagers were autopsied and released to their families.
