Jind: Screen display device in new road buses declared bankrupt

The display of street buses has been stopped.

The display of street buses has been stopped.

Jind: Passengers do not benefit from modern facilities in road buses. The new road buses have a screen display function, but the connection to this screen has been lost. For this reason, passengers cannot use the microphone system installed on the bus. Jind depot has received more than 80 new buses. Of these, 17 new buses that recently arrived are not yet on the road. Three screens have been installed in these new buses.

In the new buses that have arrived at Jind depot, one screen is installed on the main window of the bus, the second screen is installed inside the bus and the third screen is installed on the rear window of the bus. This screen displays the bus route. For example, if the bus goes to Chandigarh, the screen in the bus shows the route from Jind to Chandigarh via Kaithal, Pehowa, Ambala. Microphone and display systems were installed in the bus by a Gujarat company. The company had included the Vadodara route as a demo. After arriving at the depot, no new routes were provided to local authorities. As a result, the Jind to Vadodara route continued to be displayed on the screen in the buses. Passengers complained about this to the authorities. The officers then disconnected instead of displaying the prescribed route on the screen. Because of this, these screens were closed for almost two months. In order to inform passengers about the standstill, the driver and conductor were simultaneously provided with a microphone and a loudspeaker, the connection of which was attached to the screen. In such a situation, turning off the screen will also turn off the microphone system.

Information about interruptions is communicated to passengers via a microphone system.

Through the microphone system, road drivers and operators informed passengers about the stops earlier, so that if the passenger sleeps during the journey, they can wake up and get off at the correct stop. If the screen is disconnected, the microphone and sound system also stops. In such a situation, the screen and microphone system installed in the bus are closed for almost two months.

System will be repaired soon: Anil Kumar

Workshop Manager of Jind Depot Anil Kumar said that it is the effort of the road officials to provide better facilities to the passengers and they are continuously trying to do so. A letter has been written to the company that installed screens and microphone systems on the buses. Company employees will come to enter the prescribed route on the screen. The screen then works properly and the microphone system installed in the buses also starts.
