Jind: A media worker who worked for a daily newspaper that appeared on bikes died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near the Julana bypass over the bridge. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the incident. Following the complaint of the deceased’s brother, the Julana police station opened a case against the unidentified driver and launched an investigation.

Manoj, a resident of Dilluwala village, worked for a daily newspaper in Rohtak. After completing his night shift, he returned home from Rohtak on Saturday morning. An unidentified vehicle crashed his bicycle across the bridge near the Julana bypass, seriously injuring Manoj. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the incident. Passengers took the injured Manoj to CHC Julana, where doctors pronounced him dead.

After receiving information about the incident, the Julana Police Station arrived at the site and took stock of the situation. The Julana Police Station launched an investigation by opening a case against the unidentified driver following a complaint from the deceased’s brother, Rinku. Incidentally, Rambhaj, the younger brother of the late Manoj, died in a traffic accident on May 13, seven years ago.

Samarjeet, head of the Julana police station, said the autopsy on the body had been carried out and handed over to relatives. Proceedings have been initiated against the unknown driver. The investigation of the matter is ongoing.
