Jind: Life sentence for the perpetrators of murder and murderous assault

Jind: The Court of Additional Districts and Sessions, Judge Ritu Garg, has sentenced four convicts to life imprisonment for shooting and killing a young man who was bringing water to the field and shooting and injuring another youth. In addition to the penalty, a fine of Rs. 25,000 each for three and Rs. 30,000 for one was imposed.

In a complaint filed with the police on October 13, 2017, Subhash, a resident of the village of Sudkain Kalan, said his son Ravindra and his friend Amit would water the field at night. Along the way, Sonu, a resident of Dumarkhan village, and Mandeep, a resident of Kabracha village, opened fire on both of them. Ravindra died from a gunshot wound. While Amit was injured by the bullet. Behind the incident was a recent altercation between the late Ravindra and Sonu, a resident of the village of Doomarkhan Kalan. Due to the same enmity, Ravindra was shot dead by Sonu and his associates, and Amit was targeted for murder.

Following the complaint of the deceased’s father, Subhash, Sadar Police Station had named Narwana Sonu and Mandeep and launched a case against two other individuals under separate sections including murder, assassination and gun control. During the police investigation, the names of Monu and Mandeep aka Mota, residents of the village of Kabarchha, also came to the fore. The police stepped in and arrested all four. Since then the matter has been in court. On Friday, District and Session Judge Ritu Garg sentenced Sonu, Mandeep, Monu and Mandeep aka Motu to life imprisonment and fined Sonu 25,000-3 rupees each and 30,000 rupees on Sonu.
