Jagdish Nehra Passes Away: Former Haryana Minister of Education Jagdish Nehra passed away, mourning many leaders including CM Khattar

Haryana News: Former education and irrigation minister of the state Jagdish Nehra died, he was ill for several days. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Hisar for the last 4 days. After the death of former Minister Nehra, there was a wave of grief among his supporters, people from social, political and educational organizations including CM Manohar Lal have also expressed their deepest condolences on Nehra’s death.

Last year his elder son Surendra Nehra, who was also chairman of Sirsa Cooperative Bank, passed away and after that he started to live ill. Sandeep Nehra, the former minister’s younger son, is currently an officer in the Haryana Government’s Excise and Taxes Department. The wedding of the daughter of the younger son Sandeep Nehra will take place on January 23 in Panchkula, and on January 20 a reception was organized in Sirsa, at which the news of Nehra’s death broke today.

It is worth noting that Jagdish Nehra Chaudhary was Cabinet and Minister of State in the governments of Bhajan Lal and Bansilal and also Youth District President of the District Heads’ Congress. Jagdish Nehra’s family settled in Bhagsar in Sirsa District after he came from Pakistan during Indo-Pak Partition and after that he first practiced at the court of Dabwali and then joined the Congress. He always engaged in politics against former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devilal and former Prime Minister Om Prakash Chautala and many times fought against former Prime Minister Om Prakash Chautala of Rodi constituency. Most of his politics were directed against Devilal and the Chautala family. Jagdish Nehra was also General Secretary of the Sirsa District Youth Congress from 1973 to 1977. He also feuded with Chaudhary Devi Lal’s son Pratap Chautala in 1977. He served as President of the Sirsa District Convention from 1977 to 1982. From 1982 to 1987 he was Minister of Education.
