sonipat. The court convicted the accused father and uncle in the relationship while hearing the case of killing the daughter in the name of honor in a romantic relationship. Judge Shailendra Singh of the Additional Circuit and Sessions Court sentenced both to life imprisonment. The perpetrators were also fined between 35,000 and 35,000 rupees. Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional 15 months’ imprisonment.

On October 4, 2018, a resident of Rai region village had informed police that a family in his neighboring village had killed their 16-year-old daughter and cremated the body by taking her to Yamuna Ghat. The person claimed that after the murder on the night of October 2, 2018, the body was cremated on October 3, 2018. In this case, the police had recorded a case of murder and dismemberment of the corpse. In the case, the teenager’s father and others, including the uncle, were nominated in the relationship. The applicant had alleged that his son was having an affair with a teenager and the girl’s mother had previously filed a complaint alleging the attempted rape of her son on September 27, 2018. His son and teenager used to study together at school in their village. From where their love affair happened. When her son was reported for attempted rape, the teenager called her son that day to give him the book.

The person had claimed that his family members had now killed their daughter. In the case, the teenager’s relatives had initially told of her natural death. At Rai Police Station, after registering a murder case and mutilating the body, then-station chief Kuldeep Deshwal’s team arrested the accused teenager’s father and uncle in the relationship. The police had stated that the defendant had confessed to having killed the daughter by strangulation during the first questioning. He told police that his daughter wasn’t listening to him. As a minor, he couldn’t even marry her. Because of this he was murdered.

After hearing the case, the court on Thursday sentenced the girl’s father and uncle to the relationship. The court sentenced both convicts to strict life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 25,000 under Section 302 of the IPC and three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 10,000 under Section 201 of the IPC.
