Hisar: Inspired by his military father, Umang Bhinchar of Banawali village in Fatehabad district brought glory to the district by becoming a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. His father Mainpal, who retired from the Army from his post as Subedar in 2020, inspired him to serve the country. He was determined to clear the NDA exam right from the start and at Saturday’s passing out parade at the Indian Military Academy. In Dehradun, Umang Bhinchar has now joined the Indian Army and has taken up the responsibility as a Lieutenant. Apart from Umang Bhinchar’s father Mainpal Bhinchar, other family members were also present at the passing out parade.
Currently, Mainpal Bhinchar works at Lala Lajpat Rai Veterinary University and lives in Sector 33 of Hisar. Umang’s great-grandfather Munshi Ram Bhinchar was also in the army before British rule. Mainpal expressed his joy on the appointment of his son Umang as a Lieutenant and said that my younger son is Nilesh Kumar, who passed out from Dehradun Academy in June 2021 and is now serving as a Captain in the Indian Army. He told that my dream was for my two sons to become officers in the army and serve the country. My two sons worked hard to make my dream come true. It is very rare for both sons of a soldier to receive commissions in the army as officers. Mainpal said that sons Umang and Nilesh completed their primary education from Class 1 to Class 5 at the Army School in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra and the Army School in Amritsar. After that, both of them took 6th to 12th place from Sainik School Kunjpura, Karnal. Umang later earned his bachelor’s degree from DN College, Hisar. He then joined the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun in January 2019 and today Umang is a Lieutenant.
