The Haryana State Election Commission has received the 2022 CSI SIG e-Governance Award for implementing an integrated application system to ensure smooth election management for local governments. It was developed and implemented by NIC Haryana during the 2022 municipal local body general election.

An official spokesman said the award was presented by the Computer Society of India and Haryana State Informatics Officer Deepak Bansal along with Dr. Inderjeet, Secretary of Haryana State Election Commission, on behalf of CSI SIG, Delhi Technological University, New Delhi on March 25, 2023. He shared that the main goal of implementing the ICT application suite for the Haryana State Electoral Commission is to conduct local government elections in a free, fair and transparent manner. This ICT is best suited to bring transparency to all time-sensitive public activities.

He said that the ICT project includes a web-based integrated module and application, the creation of voter lists and district bandi, the web application for voter search, the online collection of data of the personnel to be used in the election service, the collection of Details of nominated candidates and election knowledge would include Incumbent Candidates (KYC), application of Electoral Compulsory Management System, incumbent candidate affidavits (after nominations have been reviewed and nominations withdrawn), allocation of symbols to incumbent candidates, monitoring of the election process, and management systems such as online vote counting results and generation of various reports on the e-dashboard.
