Hailstorm in Charkhi Dadri district

Haryana Season Update: Monday saw a sudden change in weather patterns across the state. In the afternoon the sky was clear, but after noon the sky became cloudy in different parts of the state and soon the weather became comfortable due to strong winds. Shortly thereafter, black clouds showed the sight of night in the day itself and it began to rain heavily. Heavy rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, led to waterlogging in many places. At the same time, hailstorms also damaged crops in some areas.

While the people got into trouble because of the change in the weather, the worry lines are also visible on the foreheads of the farmers. Some areas of the state experienced hail and rain, spreading wheat and mustard crops into the fields. In addition, the fields were flooded, which could seriously damage the crops. Farmers are also concerned about the lack of adequate drainage arrangements for waterlogging. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of a change in the weather from March 22nd to 25th. Although people have recovered from the heat with the rain, the problem has increased.

It has rained in these areas

It rained heavily in Yamunanagar, Karnal, Jind, Sonipat, Rohtak, Kaithal and Kurukshetra districts. Heavy rainfall led to waterlogging in many places. On the other hand, there was hail in Jhajjar and Charkhi Dadri, which also damaged crops.

The rain reminded Rohtak residents of June 2022

Monday afternoon’s torrential rains refreshed the city’s residents’ memories of the June 2022 rains. During the June rains when the entire city including Chhoturam Chowk was flooded, the entire city was similarly inundated by the rains. Most areas of the city, including Chhoturam Chowk, were saturated with water. Water also pooled in people’s homes. At the same time, due to the water on the streets, two-wheelers were seen floating in the water. Due to the rain, the entire facility appeared to be in ruins.

Pre-monsoon activities will resume on March 22-25

dr Chandra Mohan, Nodal Officer, Environment Club, Government College, Narnaul, said that due to the activation of a strong weather system, there was continuous pre-monsoon activity in all directions ie northern, southern, eastern and central parts throughout the plains states, especially in Haryana NCR Delhi: High-speed winds, light to moderate rain and thunder and lightning hailstorms are recorded in some places, only Sirsa Fatehabad Hisar sees less impact so far. Due to the active formation of these strong western disturbances, a strong induced cyclonic circulation over central and western Rajasthan continuously receives abundant moisture from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, likewise there is a continuous change in winds in the Plains States, due to which instability has been occurring ever since prevails throughout the region. The plains states of Haryana NCR Delhi are experiencing continuous formation of thunder and luminous clouds due to which pre-monsoon activity is recorded with high velocity winds and thunderstorms and light to moderate rain and hailstorm activity in some locations. There is a chance that these activities will decrease in Haryana NCR Delhi in the next 24 hours. But due to the reactivation of a western disturbance after the coming forty-eight hours, pre-monsoon activity will resume across the region on March 22-25. Due to pre-monsoon activities for five consecutive days, the temperature has dropped in all plains states, especially Haryana NCR Delhi. Today the minimum temperature was in the range of 13.0 °C – 17.0 °C in most locations in Haryana NCR Delhi. Overnight temperatures remained normal and below normal in most locations.
