Sirsa news:Chief Minister Manohar Lal welcomed the Cyclothon in Sirsa, which is touring the state with the aim of a drug-free Haryana campaign. He said that public participation in today’s Cyclothon broke the record of the marathon organized in 2019. He said that the way Haryana is mired in drugs is a matter of concern and this Cyclothon Yatra proves useful for creating awareness.
The Prime Minister addressed the participants and general public before inaugurating the Cyclothon Yatra at the main gate of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium in Sirsa on Sunday. He thanked the cyclists from schools, colleges and other educational institutions who took part in the trip. It is noteworthy that the Cyclothon Yatra was launched from Karnal on September 1 and has so far spread the message of drug-free Haryana in 15 districts. This yatra will end on September 25 in Karnal.

The number of cyclists has exceeded two million, a world record is set
The Chief Minister said that the number of public participation in the Cyclothon Yatra has so far crossed two million. In the coming days, this Yatra will be completed in Karnal via Fatehabad, Ratia, Tohana, Uklana, Jind, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Panchkula and Yamunanagar. The maximum number of participants in the Cyclothon organized in Madhya Pradesh was 35,000. There is a possibility that 3,000 people will take part in the Cyclothon Yatra in Haryana and it will be a world record.
Drug addiction is a problem in Sirsa and Fatehabad.
The Chief Minister said that the Cyclothon Yatra is achieving its aim of spreading the message of addiction freeness. The aim of this Yatra is clear that we have to make Haryana drug-free. However, it is a matter of great concern that Sirsa and Fatehabad districts are the worst affected by drugs. In most districts of the state, the yatra is held for a day, but especially in Sirsa district, it lasts for three days.
When the youth realize this, India will become a world leader again.
The Prime Minister said that if the youth of the country is aware of this, no one can stop India from becoming a world leader again. The youth should not only make a promise themselves but also pass on this message to their loved ones to avoid this disease. Youth is the capital of the country and it is important to us to secure the youth of the future. Our country’s progress is youth, youth is enthusiasm, awareness is heaven and inspiration is moving forward. The chief minister said there were three main steps to make the drug-free Haryana campaign successful. Send drug addicts to rehab centers so they can escape drug addiction and join mainstream society. According to the law, strict action must be taken against drug smugglers and they must be put behind bars. He said that parents should take care of their children. If the lives of young people are saved, society, the state and the country will be safe. Young people should be made aware of the harmful effects of drugs so that they stay away from these addictions. The Prime Minister urged everyone to work hard to make this campaign successful, keep the flame of this Yagya burning and take this campaign forward.
A 74-year-old woman participating in the Cyclothon is raising awareness
The chief minister said that 74-year-old Kamlesh Rana from Rohtak, who is participating in the cyclothon, is also a role model. She cycled non-stop. Kamlesh Rana, a resident of Rohtak district, started cycling in 2020 to kick his drug addiction. From then until now, she has continuously been part of this type of campaign. In addition, two other elderly people are also 75 and 76 years old. I honor his spirit and say that he is inspiring to all of us.
