Hisar. Deputy Prime Minister Dushyant Chautala said at Hisar Airport that Maharaja Agrasen Hisar Airport would be operational by November 1. As part of the Regional Connectivity Scheme, Hisar’s flight service will begin on 9 routes to different states. After completing various works, passengers can travel on these routes on a 48-seater aircraft.

He said Air India would come to inspect Hisar Airport to start flight training operations from there. Air India will soon buy 400 Airbus aircraft. When this flight training operation starts after the Hisar inspection, Air India alone will give this training to about 200 pilots. Three other companies are also in the running to start flight training operations at Hisar and there will be an open tender soon.

He said that works on the airport perimeter wall would be completed in May. In terms of security, watchtowers were built according to international standards. The work on the taxiway at the airport is almost complete. Advance light systems have arrived and will be installed starting next month. The capacity of the existing terminal at the airport will be increased from 30 to 50 to 55 people. In addition, the tendering process for the construction of the new terminal will start shortly. Precautions are also taken with regard to kidnappings and other emergency situations. Many projects have been approved under central government conditions and their drawings are being prepared.

He said that Hisar airport works are almost two years ahead of Jewar airport and we will definitely benefit from it. By 2025, there will be 1500 ships in India that will require additional precautions to operate, and Hisar Airport is leading the way. He said that Hisar Doordarshan Kendra has not been closed but some operations have been moved here. In this regard, he has held talks with the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, and has been assured that there will be an 8-hour broadcast of Hisar’s Kisan channel, where Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University and Lala Lajpat Rai work together The Veterinary University will be there.

He said that there had been a proposal in the previous government to connect Hisar to Chandigarh via Hansi, Narnaund and Jind, which was said to be unworkable. Discussions are however ongoing for the rail link from Chandigarh via Hisar-Uklana via Narvana which is awaiting report. It is expected that Hisar will have a direct connection with Chandigarh via the Uklana-Narwana railway line. The feasibility of Hisar to Delhi Airport railway line has come and work is ongoing.

He said a provision of Rs 723 crore had been made in the budget for the Hisar elevated road. The Forest Service has requested 15 acres of land to build an alternative route along the airport wall, instead they are being given 15 acres of land nearby. The road will be constructed along with the boundary wall once approval has been received from the Forest Service.
