Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomar said even if cyber fraud happens to someone, they can contact Union Home Ministry helpline 1930 or nearest police cyber cell to provide immediate information about such cases. He said that the administration and district police are also raising awareness on how to avoid cyber fraud through many programs. He said that when ordering goods from online sites, you should, if possible, choose the cash on delivery option so that your bank and card details do not fall into the hands of cybercriminals. Citizens should not share OTP with unknown people. If a cyber fraud happens to you for any reason, first dial the helpline number 1930 and register your complaint on the cyber crime reporting portal.
He appealed to the youth of the district to be wary of cybercrimes and also make their family members aware about it. The hotline option is the best way to report crimes such as cyber fraud. He said the earlier such cases are reported, the better so that immediate assistance can be given to the victim to prevent further transactions.
