Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the second meeting of the National Industrial Corridors and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) Chief Inspectorate. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal attended the meeting via videoconference from Chandigarh. The meeting was attended by Union Minister of Trade and Industry Piyush Goyal, NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Suman Berry, as well as prime ministers and industry ministers of various states via video conference. Also present on the occasion was Haryana Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister JP Dalal.

During the meeting, Manohar Lal shared the progress report of two major state projects and said that an integrated multi-modal logistics hub is to be built on 886 hectares of land in Nangal Chowdhary. Road, water and power works associated with this project have begun and are expected to be completed in June. In addition, an EPC tender for the internal station infrastructure will also be published shortly.

The premier said that the National Industrial Corridor Development Program (NICDC) would support industrialization and the logistics sector in the state, which would lead to economic progress not only in the state but also across the country. He said eleven industrial corridors would be built across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Haryana government is also committed to making the prime minister’s dream a reality and will swiftly complete the projects in the state.

The Prime Minister announced that IMC will be developed on 1,605 hectares of land in Hisar under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) as well as the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) project. The CLU has basic approval for this. The environmental clean-up process will also be completed soon. He said that these projects are very ambitious for the state of Haryana and work on them is progressing rapidly. The completion of these projects will bring great benefits to the industry. In addition, these projects will also be able to increase investments in manufacturing and industrial activities. Manohar Lal said that the state government will soon send the DPR for the Inland Container Depot in Kalanaur, Yamuna Nagar to the center so that work on this project can also start.
