Charkhi Dadri:After a long struggle, the election of Charkhi Dadri Zilla Parishad was concluded in a peaceful atmosphere on Monday. BJP-backed Mandeep Dalwas defeated JJP-backed Ravindra Charkhi in the election for chairman by one vote. On the other hand, Ramesh Devi was unanimously elected Vice-Chairman. After winning the four bloc committee elections, the BJP has hoisted the flag by winning the election to chair the Zilla Parishad.
After the formation of the district, the election of the Zilla Parishad was carried out for the first time. In which a total of 11 district councils were elected. December 24 had previously been set for the chairman and vice-chairman of Zilla Parishad, but due to the failure of a single council member to attend the meeting, the election was postponed and the next date of January 18 was retained. The city councilors did not show up for the meeting on January 18 either, so the election date was set for January 23. A head-to-head battle ensued between the BJP and the JJP for the election of the chair.
The leaders of both parties wanted to crown their supporters as leaders. The BJP had given responsibility for the election to Kamal Yadav, the state district leader, and the JJP to Digvijay Singh Chautala, but at the first two meetings the election was postponed as neither party obtained an absolute majority. On Monday, all elected district councils attended the meeting where BJP’s Mandeep Dalawas and JJP’s Ravindra Charkhi submitted nominations for the post of chair. At the same time, Ramesh Devi applied for the post of Deputy Chairman. No corporator submitted a nomination against Ramesh Devi, so she was unopposed.
A vote was held between Mandeep and Ravindra for the post of Chairman, with BJP supporter Mandeep receiving 6 votes and JJP supporter Ravindra receiving 5 votes. Mandeep won the election by 1 vote.
Digvijay Singh Chautala reached Dadri

The JJP expected a cross vote from the BJP.
