Sonipat: The court found the accused guilty of raping a mentally retarded minor girl who had given tea to a mechanic-worker who was delivering tea at an under-construction house in Sadar police station area. Additional District and Sessions Court Justice Suruchi Attreja Singh sentenced the convict to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 70,000 on the culprit. It was ordered to pay Rs 50,000 of the fine to the victim. If the fine is not paid, the convicted person must expect an additional sentence of 18 months.

The victim had gone to the house under construction to donate tea.

On April 22, 2023, a woman reported to the police that construction work on her house was underway. Her husband died. She went to the market to buy rebar for construction work. As she left, she gave tea to her 17-year-old daughter, the construction mechanic and laborer. His daughter reached the house with tea. Where Surendra alias Kala, a resident of Bandepur, did something wrong with his daughter. She reached the house with the crowbar. Where his daughter was found crying. His clothes were torn. The accused youth immediately ran away when he saw her. I informed the police about the matter.

Sadar police station was investigating the matter

As soon as information about the case was received, Sadar police station reached the spot and called SI Usha, in-charge of Mahila police station Khanpur, to the spot. SI Usha got the girl’s medical examination conducted and her statement recorded in the court. Investigating officer SI Usha’s team arrested the accused and produced him before the court. From there he was sent to prison on remand. The court of ASJ Suruchi Attreja Singh heard the case and found the accused Surendra alias Kala guilty under 6 POCSO Acts and sentenced him to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 50,000, one year imprisonment under Section 323 and a fine of 50,000 rupees Under Section 506, he was sentenced to seven years imprisonment and a fine of 10,000 rupees. If the fine is not paid, the convicted person must expect an additional sentence of 18 months. All three sets are performed simultaneously.
