Cyber ​​Police Station Kaithal team arrested three Uttar Pradesh youths for demanding money from people by creating fake Instagram IDs on behalf of Kaithal Police Superintendent Maqsood Ahmed. Kaithal Police PRO Pradeep Nain had revealed that an unknown person created a fake Instagram ID on behalf of SP Maqsood Ahmed and money is being demanded from this ID.

DSP Vivek Chaudhary said the investigation into the case was being conducted by a joint team of SDU inspector in charge Amit Kumar and Cyber ​​Police Station’s PSI Shubhrashun. They arrested three suspects. The arrested defendants were identified as Vivek Pratap r/o Semra Samaina Chamau District Hardoi UP and Ramji Mishra r/o Dhini Tusaura District Hardoi UP and Jaswant Kumar r/o Adarsh ​​​​​​Nagar Sitapur UP. On March 17, the accused Vivek and Ramji Mishra were arrested by the police and both accused were remanded in custody for 7 days. Along with interrogation during pre-trial detention, 166 fake activated SIMs, a printer, a mobile phone and 5 fake Aadhaar cards belonging to defendant Vivek and 650 non-activated SIMs belonging to defendant Ramji Mishra were seized.

The investigation revealed that both defendants were involved in the sale of counterfeit SIM cards. The accused Jaswant were also sold counterfeit SIM cards by both of them, which Jaswant then sold to someone else. Through these fake SIMs, cyber criminals commit cyber crimes to avoid getting caught. All three defendants were brought before the court, from where defendants Ramji Mishra and Vivek Pratap were taken to prison by court order, while defendant Jaswant Kumar was remanded in five days’ detention.
