Ambala: In the case of the rape of a student, the convict was sentenced to 7 years in prison. A fine of 2,000 rupees was also imposed on the guilty. In case of non-payment of the fine, the convict must be punished with an additional penalty of one month. What is important in this case is that the defendant married the girl after the incident. He also has a child. The victim also became hostile in court. The court found the accused guilty on the basis of a DNA test and sentenced him.

On February 21, 2019, a person from Nahan House in Ambala City filed a complaint with the Women’s Police Station. The applicant had stated that the daughter had not been seen at home when he returned from work on 21 February. When I went to pick up my daughter from class, I found out that the daughter hadn’t picked up class. Suspected, he went to the old house where his daughter and Amandeep Sharma were found in the room in a critical condition. The student’s father then filed a complaint with the women’s police. Following the student’s father’s complaint, Mahila Thana Police had opened a case against the defendant Amandeep Sharma under Sections 4 and 8 of the POCSO Law. The case has been tried in summary court for the past four years. The Supplementary Sessions Court, Judge Manpal Ramavat, convicted and sentenced the defendant Amandeep Sharma.
