Pehowa, Kurukshetra: Haryana State Minister Sardar Sandeep Singh said a budget of around Rs 11 crore has been approved for the new construction of the canal bridge on Ambala Road. Work will begin shortly after the tendering process has been completed. A team of officials has been deployed to ensure that all processes cannot be completed until next month at the earliest. In order to ensure that traffic runs smoothly, the administration was also instructed to prepare alternative routes in addition to the bypass. Minister of State Sandeep Singh came on Sunday to inspect the dilapidated canal bridge on Ambala Road.

After this bridge was bent aside, the administration stopped traffic on it. Because of this, people and shopkeepers face great difficulties. To resolve this issue, Minister of State Sandeep Singh visited the site and instructed officials to make alternative arrangements. The Minister of State said the project to convert the six to eight kilometer road from Tikri village to Bherian into four lanes has been approved by the government. Under which a budget of around Rs 40 crore was handed over. The new construction of this drainage bridge built in 1960 was also part of this project. But now the bridge is in a state of collapse. As a result, the bridge’s budget was separated from the four-lane project and Rs 11 crore approved with immediate effect. Before the road becomes four lanes, the construction of the bridge will make it a four-lane bridge.

The Minister of State said that following requests from nearby shopkeepers and city residents, he directed the administration to come here and fix the problem. Earlier, Minister of State Sandeep Singh met members of Zilla Parishad by attending a program organized by newly elected Zilla Parishad leader Kanwaljit Kaur near the village of Gumthalagadhu. Afterwards, the sports minister also met the newly elected sarpanchs who had traveled from the villages. On this occasion he was congratulated by the community leader Ashish Chakrapani, Surendra Dhingra Pappu along with councilors and Kshetrapal Seva Samiti.
