ED seeks 10 days remand for Manish Sisodia, Court reserves order

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia’s difficulties are increasing. After the arrest of Sisodia, today the Enforcement Directorate has also demanded from the court to take him on remand. Rouse Avenue Court had asked Manish Sisodia to appear at 2 pm. The former Deputy CM of Delhi was seen smiling while entering the court premises. ED placed before the court the reason for taking Manish Sisodia on remand. The defense side also presented its arguments. After hearing both the sides, the court reserved the verdict till March 21.

According to media reports, the ED told the Rouse Avenue court that Manish Sisodia has to be questioned in the money laundering case. Inquired them, but they are not cooperating. ED has requested to send Manish Sisodia on ED remand for ten days. The Enforcement Directorate said that Delhi’s excise policy was framed to benefit some people. The ED has argued that Manish Sisodia conspired with South Group along with Vijay Nair and K Kavitha for the new liquor policy. This resulted in extraordinary profits for the wholesalers.

ED said that more profits were given to wholesalers

The Enforcement Directorate said in the court that some companies were benefited more from this policy. At the behest of Sisodia, the rules of excise policy were changed. Wholesaler’s margin doubled. increased from 6 percent to 12 percent. Also, the ED said that Manish Sisodia’s statement is different from others in the matter of increasing the profit margin. The Enforcement Directorate told Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court that Manish Sisodia had purchased SIM cards and mobile phones in the names of other people. This evidence has been destroyed.

ED sought ten days remand from the court

Seeking 10-day remand of jailed AAP leader Manish Sisodia, advocate Joheed Hasan, appearing for the Enforcement Directorate, said, “We want to confront him with others who have been summoned for questioning.” Some officers have also been summoned.
