DU: Minister demands to fill vacant seats by reducing cut-off marks

New Delhi. Delhi’s SC/ST Welfare Minister Rajkumar Anand writes to Delhi University Vice Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh, demanding filling up of vacant seats in DU colleges by lowering the cut-off marks for SC/ST students , so that the vacant seats of SC students can be filled in DU and they do not have to face much difficulties for admission in DU. Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Welfare Minister of Delhi, Rajkumar Anand told that in the current year, about 6 thousand seats are lying vacant in the reserved seats for Scheduled Caste students in DU.

Because this year the same process is not being followed for the admission of these students and the admission is based on the marks or rank obtained in CUET (Common University Entrance Test). In such a situation, the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Professor Yogesh Singh, has been informed through a letter about the relaxation of DU’s admission criteria to fill the vacant seats by reducing the cut-off marks for SC students.
