A new book ‘Parakh’ by Dr. Lalitesh Mishra, a great scholar of Maithili language and eminent writer, was released yesterday at Hindi Bhawan in New Delhi. This book outlines the actual position of criticism in Maithili literature. This book throws light on the needs of Maithil rituals in the present day society.

Many eminent personalities from the world of literature and media were present in this book release programme. The program was presided over by Sahitya Akademi Awardee and former DG Archives of All India Radio, Gangesh Gunjan. On the other hand, many speakers including Dr. Devshankar Naveen, Dr. Pankaj Mishra, Prof. Shailendra Mohan Jha, Dr. Tanushree Rai Chowdhary and Dr. Kailash Mishra kept their opinion. Many famous faces of TV also participated in the program. It included TV anchor Sumit Awasthi, senior journalists Prabhat Shunglu, Sangeeta Tiwari and Mihir Ranjan.

Apart from Maithili, Dr. Lalitesh Mishra has also contributed significantly in many works of Hindi and English language. Born in a literary family, Dr. Lalitesh Mishra is a reputed creative writer and critic of Maithili literature. Apart from Maithili, he has also made a lot of literary contribution in Hindi and English. His other books include Pied Poje (English), Beet Vaitarani Mein, Rachna Rasayan and Prologue. Dr. Mishra is a retired professor of English. He has also been the dean of Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University. Apart from this, he has also been writing for newspapers like Hindustan Times and Telegraph for the last three decades.
