Delhi Police sub-inspector Manish Rathi (SI Manish Rathi) has been accused of taking 1.4 kg of gold as a bribe. In view of the allegations, a case has been registered against the SI (Delhi Police SI) on May 12 at the Vigilance Station. The complainant alleges that the SI had demanded Rs 60 lakh to get one of his friends jailed in the rape case out, but the gold was taken when this much cash was not arranged.
FIR number two, registered in Vigilance police station, was registered on the complaint of a person living in Lajpat Nagar Part 3. The SI was posted at Greater Kailash police station when the gold was handed over. In 2020, an event manager had filed a rape case against the complainant’s friend in a hotel. Friend went to jail. It is alleged that SI claimed in February 2021 that he came to know that the girl who filed the case had implicated her friend in a false case. He has the girl’s call recording and other material as strong evidence.

SI had demanded Rs 60 lakh in lieu of giving its proof, but SI did not give any proof to the complainant and his friend even after taking the gold. When it came to returning the gold, he started making excuses every time. Later he started making threats. He also met the local SHO several times regarding the SI’s complaint.
But no action was taken against SI from their side also. Later he also gave a complaint to Law and Order Special CP, but no investigation was started on that also. Now he complained to the police commissioner, then a case was registered. At the same time, last year the court had also acquitted his friend in this case. It has been learned from sources that the SI is still posted in another police station in South district. In this regard, District DCP Chandan Chaudhary was asked about the action taken on earlier complaints, but no response was received.
