Delhi: Police conducted Operation Viram in 20 bars of Paharganj, 12 arrested

In Paharganj and Nabi Karim areas of central Delhi, the Delhi Police carried out checking operations in more than 20 bars under Operation Viram. In many places the Delhi Police had also reached as customers. Meanwhile, seven bar dancers, five note-blowing customers and the owner of the bar were arrested from the James Bar. This information has been given by the police itself.

Giving more information in this regard, DCP Sanjay Kumar Sen said that on last Friday i.e. May 5, checking was done more than 20 times in Paharganj and Nabi Karim areas under Operation Viram. During this, seven bar dancers and five customers along with a bar owner have also been arrested.

He further told that on May 5, seven girls were found dancing at James Bar in Main Bazaar Paharganj. While enjoying this dance, five people were throwing notes at the girls. Apart from the bar dancer and the customers, the police also nabbed the bar owner Akhilesh Pathak. During the investigation of the case, the police came to know that all the girls dancing in the bar are adults. She is a resident of Sikkim, Punjab, UP and Haryana.

The DCP further told that seven times the dancer has been arrested. According to the daily wages, she used to work in the dance bar. Along with this, the customers who were caught had also come from other states in connection with Delhi business. A case has been registered in Paharganj police station under relevant sections of the IPC regarding this matter. Bar owner Akhilesh Pathak is a resident of Tilak Nagar area. He has been in this business for a long time.
