New Delhi: The Timarpur police of North district have busted a gang of robbers who used to commit crimes for fun. Eight miscreants including three minors have been arrested in this connection. Three bikes and three mobiles used in the crime have been recovered from them. One of the accused is a national level kick volleyball player.
According to DCP Sagar Singh Kalsi, mobile snatching was reported in Timarpur on the intervening night of March 11-12. The victim told the police that he lives in Vijay Nagar. During this, eight nine youths riding on three bikes came and misbehaved with them and tried to loot the mobile. However, before this the miscreants had succeeded in looting their mobiles.
Police checked the footage of CCTV cameras and gathered information about the accused with the help of technical surveillance. After Saurabh was identified among the accused, he was first caught from VP block Wazirpur village on Friday. He revealed the names of his accomplices in the interrogation, after which Manish Pal, Shiv Prakash, Roshan, Ayush and three minors were arrested one by one.
The accused told during interrogation that it was the birthday of accused Saurabh on the day of the incident. To celebrate the birthday party, he needed money, so that he could arrange for cake, expensive liquor and non-veg. That’s why they looted and ordered food and drink. Now the police is looking for Aryan, another accomplice of the accused. Ayush is a class 12 student among the accused. Apart from this, he is also a national level kick volleyball player.
