On the day of Rakshabandhan i.e. on Thursday, two bike-borne miscreants opened fire on maternal uncle-nephew in Delhi’s Bhajanpura area. The nephew died on the spot, while the maternal uncle was seriously injured. The police sent the dead body for postmortem and admitted the injured maternal uncle to the hospital. Police say that the surrounding CCTV footage is being investigated and soon the accused will be arrested by giving clues. On the other hand, mourning has spread in the houses of the victims after this incident.
According to media reports, 36-year-old Harpreet Singh, a resident of Subhash Vihar, had left the house with his maternal uncle Govind Singh for some important work on Raksha Bandhan. As soon as both of them reached the narrow lane of Bhajanpura, suddenly a scuffle started between the two with the miscreants who came riding on the bikes. The dispute increased so much that suddenly the miscreants opened fire on both of them. Govind Singh was seriously injured in this attack and his nephew Harpreet Singh died on the spot. After executing this incident, all the accused fled from the spot.

As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and injured Govind Singh was admitted to the nearby Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital. Due to Govind’s condition being critical, he was referred to Guruteg Bahadur Government Hospital in Dilshad Garden. Police said that the people present at the spot said that the number of accused was five. Case has been registered. Police said that after scanning the CCTV footage, two accused have been arrested and the investigation is ongoing. Police said that raids are also being conducted to arrest the remaining three accused. The names of the arrested accused have been mentioned as Sameer and Malu.

They tried to take away the bike first, but they refused to back down, which made us angry. Police said that accused Junaid slapped Govind Singh. After this, when the uncle and nephew protested, bullets were fired at him. Harpreet Singh died on the spot after being shot and the condition of Govind Singh is critical. Police said that the body has been sent for postmortem.
