Delhi Cracker Ban 2023: Like every year in the country’s national capital Delhi, this time too there will be a complete ban on burning of firecrackers on other festivals including Diwali (Delhi Cracker Ban 2023). The Delhi government on Monday again announced a ban on the production, sale, storage and use of all types of firecrackers in Delhi. This step has been taken in view of the pollution during winter.
Gopal Rai gave information
While talking to the media, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that Delhi Police will be given strict instructions to enforce the ban in the entire city. Delhi government has maintained this tradition for the last three years. He said that Delhi’s air quality has improved significantly in the last few years. Rai said that we have seen a lot of improvement in the air quality of Delhi in the last 5-6 years, but we have to improve it further. Therefore, we have decided to ban firecrackers this year also.
He also appealed to the authorities of NCR states to refrain from granting firecracker licenses. He said that we all know that pollution levels increase in Delhi during winter. To deal with this, Delhi government has started working on the Winter Action Plan.
Last time also there was a ban
Last year, the government had announced that those found bursting firecrackers during Diwali would be punished with six months in jail and a fine of Rs 200. Also, it was said by the government that a case will be registered under various acts on the production, storage and sale of firecrackers in Delhi. Not only this, three years of jail and a fine of Rs 5,000 can also be imposed.
