People got relief from air pollution due to rain two days before Diwali, but after Diwali, air pollution again reached severe category. Even today, Delhi’s air remains in the ‘very poor’ category. According to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), AQI has been recorded at 398 in Delhi at 6 am today. At the same time, at many places the level of PM 2.5 has been recorded beyond 800.

AQI 396 recorded in RK Puram

According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, air quality was recorded at 396 in RK Puram, 350 in Anand Bihar, 350 in New Moti Bagh, 465 in IGI Airport area and 416 in Nehru Nagar. Which falls under the ‘very bad’ category. Earlier, AQI in Delhi was recorded at 405 on Friday, 419 on Thursday, 401 on Wednesday, 397 on Tuesday, 358 on Monday and 218 on Sunday. Meanwhile, if we talk about the temperature of the capital Delhi, the temperature has started falling in the national capital, on Friday the temperature was recorded at 12 degrees Celsius.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, satisfactory between 51 and 100, moderate between 101 and 200, poor between 201 and 300, very poor between 301 and 400, severe between 401 and 450 and severe above 450. Is considered a plus.

Delhi’s PM 2.5 level

According to CPCB, the PM 2.5 level at Anand Vihar station reached the extremely hazardous category at 999, while the NO2 was at ‘satisfactory’ level at 73 at 6 pm the previous day. At Bawana station, PM 2.5 levels reached 352, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category. Whereas PM 10 was in ‘poor’ category at 238.

What did Gopal Rai say?

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that now the wind speed has changed a bit and things are improving. Today the pollution level has gone down by about 100 points. In such a situation, a positive sign is visible and we are hopeful that there will be further improvement. He said the AQI reached ‘severe’ category after the Diwali festival. He said that we are hopeful of improvement in the situation, cases of stubble burning will also reduce in the next 2-3 days, as farmers will be busy sowing seeds for the farming season in the next 2-3 days.
