Delhi: The accused, who was absconding in the murder and attempt to murder case in Nangli of Dwarka district, was caught by the Special Staff Team after an encounter. The name of the accused has been stated as Jaane Alam. He was also injured by the bullet. Alam is said to be the BC of Najafgarh police station.
DCP M Harshvardhan said that on October 29, at around 8:30 pm, information about a fight was received at a warehouse in Nangli Sakravati area. Three people were injured during that time. They were taken to hospital, where one died. The name of the deceased was 33-year-old Dharmendra. Upon investigation, it was found that the warehouse employees present there had caught a person on suspicion of entering the warehouse for theft. After some time a group of people came there and alleged that the arrested person was being beaten and had a fight with the warehouse staff, in which one person was killed and two other persons were seriously injured.
A case was registered in Najafgarh police station under sections 302, 307, 147, 148, 149 of IPC regarding the matter. Nine accused had already been arrested in the case. One accused Jaane Alam was absconding. The special staff team had received information about Alam at around 3 pm on Tuesday afternoon. The police team surrounded and asked Alam to surrender, but Alam fired three rounds. In retaliation, four rounds were fired by the police team. Alam was captured after he was shot in the leg. At present he is admitted to the hospital for treatment.
