New Delhi: A middle-aged man was shot dead in North Delhi’s Civil Lines area. The name of the deceased has been told as Virendra Singh Rawat. He lived with the family in Uttarakhand Part 2, Natthupura Burari area. Police has sent the dead body for postmortem. Police has started searching for the accused. In the initial investigation, the possibility of murder has been expressed for opposing the robbery.

According to the police, information was received on Monday evening about the hospitalization of Virendra Singh Rawat. It was told that his relative Manoj Rawat had taken the injured to the hospital. The doctors declared the injured dead. The deceased’s brother-in-law Manoj Rawat told the police that he was returning home from duty with his friend Abhishek at 7.20 pm. When he reached near Victoria Public School on Rajpur Road, a crowd of people was seen there. On going closer, we came to know that the injured is his brother-in-law Virendra Singh Rawat. Crime and FSL team also reached the spot and investigated.

On Tuesday, on the statement of Manoj Rawat, the police registered a case of murder, loot and Arms Act. Now the police is looking for clues of the accused by checking the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the spot. The deceased Virendra Singh used to do a private job. Regarding this matter, the nephew of the deceased, Manoj Chauhan, says that his maternal uncle was coming to his house, when the bike-riding miscreants overtook his motorcycle and stopped him. They started looting the bag hanging on his shoulder. On opposing this, the miscreants opened fire, in which a bullet hit his maternal uncle.
