Wrestlers Protest:A scuffle broke out between the wrestlers and the police, who were staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar in the country’s capital, Delhi, on late Wednesday night, and then soon there was a scuffle between the two. Vinesh Phogat’s brother Dushyant’s head has been injured in this fierce clash. Along with this, many other jawans have also been injured. The wrestlers sitting on the dharna say that it was raining due to which they had ordered beds, which the police stopped them from bringing. After this a debate started between Bajrang Punia and Delhi Police. Geeta Phogat’s brother’s head exploded in a scuffle between the police and the wrestlers. Along with this, another wrestler has also been hurt.
According to media reports, wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat have alleged that an inebriated policeman misbehaved with them. After which the rest of the wrestlers present there created a ruckus. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda and Delhi Women’s Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal reached Jantar Mantar to meet the wrestlers as soon as they got the news of the attack on the wrestlers, but the police took them into custody. On the other hand, wrestler Rahul Yadav, who was injured in the clash, has been sent by ambulance to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment. After this clash, Bajrang’s wife Sangeeta has appealed to the people to reach Jantar Mantar in Delhi soon. He said that the safety of our sisters and daughters is necessary.
