Delhi Air Pollution: The Delhi government will soon prepare a summer action plan to prevent pollution. Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai has called a meeting of all concerned departments at the Delhi Secretariat on April 11 to prepare a summer action plan on the lines of the winter action plan. Officers of the concerned departments will be present in this meeting. Under the Summer Action Plan, immediate and long-term planning will be made and implemented.

Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that pollution inside Delhi is present all the time as a major challenge. After the formation of our government, under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal, continuous work has been done to reduce the pollution level of Delhi. As a result of all those measures, a continuous decline is being recorded in the level of pollution inside Delhi. As a result of the Winter Action Plan implemented by the government, Delhi has registered a steady decline in PM 10 and PM 2.5 concentrations during the winter season. According to the Economic Survey 2022-23, between 2016 and 2021, the number of days in Delhi’s AQI in good, satisfactory and moderate category increased from 109 to 160 and the number of days in poor and very poor category decreased from 217 to 196 Is. Along with this, the number of most dangerous category has also decreased between 2016 and 2022, which was 26 in 2016, now it has come down to only 6 in 2022. This shows that the continuous steps being taken inside Delhi are showing their effect in reducing the pollution of Delhi.

An immediate and long-term plan will be made and implemented.

Gopal Rai told that the Kejriwal government has made extensive efforts to save the breath of Delhiites from air pollution. Similarly, on the lines of the Winter Action Plan, a new outline of the Summer Action Plan will now be prepared so that Delhiites can be saved from pollution in the summer season as well. Under this action plan, an immediate and long-term action plan will be prepared and implemented to control Delhi’s pollution. For this, a meeting has been called with all the concerned departments at Delhi Secretariat on 11th April. Environment, DPCC, NDMC, NHAI, DDA, MCD, Water Board, Development Department, Transport Department, PWD, Education Department, Forest and Wildlife Department, I&F, DSIIDC, DTC, DMRC, PWD, Fire Service, Dusib, Revenue including All concerned department officials will be present.

Roadmap will be prepared after discussing with the departments

A roadmap will be prepared to implement the summer action plan after discussing with all the departments in the meeting. Based on the suggestions of all the departments, the summer action plan will be released by the government. On which the government will focus and work in summer to control pollution. The Environment Minister said that the government is continuously working against the increasing pollution in Delhi. In such a situation, this action plan will play an important role in environmental improvement and pollution control of Delhi.
