13th National Voters Day celebrated with the theme ‘Nothing like vote, we will definitely cast our vote’

New Delhi. India celebrated its 13th National Voters’ Day on Wednesday, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi organized several activities on the occasion and celebrated the occasion with full fervor and gaiety. On the occasion, Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Ranbir Singh said that the main objective of the National Voters’ Day celebration is to encourage, facilitate and maximize voter registration and participation, especially among first-time voters .

He said that this year’s NVD theme is ‘Vote Jaisa Kuch Nahi, Vote Zarur Daalenge Hum’. Which truly reflects the essence of successful elections in a vibrant democracy. Meanwhile, Rajesh Kumar, (Special CEO) and Kanchan Azad, (OSD, Media) were presented with Special Category Award for Best Electoral Award 2022. Marking the 13th National Voters’ Day, the song ‘I am India, we are the voters of India’ was launched by ECI with hashtags NVD 2023, hashtags MainBharatHoon and hashtagsVoteElenge. The song is available on the ECI SVEEP website. Representatives of various political parties of the state as well as state icons also attended the event on the occasion.

CEO Dr. Ranbir Singh here informed that the primary objective of National Voters’ Day is to encourage, facilitate and promote voter registration especially among first time voters. All the participants took a pledge to uphold the democratic traditions of India and vote fearlessly in every election. Several young voters from different categories of Delhi were given their Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs). The winners of various competitions were given certificates and cash prizes for their achievements. Awards for Best Electoral Administration were presented to 42 officers/officials at State and District level for their excellent performance in election administration. The CEO said that all stakeholders should work together to address the issues of youth and urban apathy in electoral participation.
