Verification of ration shops.

Raipur News2News.in News:The Food Department has not been able to complete the verification work of surplus stock in fair price shops in Chhattisgarh. So far half the shops have been investigated. Shortage has been found in 4 thousand 952 shops in all the districts of the state. In preliminary investigation, 68 thousand 930 tonnes of rice, 3359 tonnes of sugar, 5063 tonnes of salt and 507 tonnes of jaggery were found short. The Food Department is showing speed in completing the verification of all the shops. According to the Food Department, further action will be decided after the completion of the verification.

From January 2022 to December 2022, full quota was given to every ration shop, but the savings stock was not removed. The allocation of rice, gram, sugar, jaggery and salt does not account for the remaining stock of 68 thousand 930 metric tonnes of rice in about 5 thousand ration shops. After the matter came to light, the department was asked to investigate by March 24 and give complete information. It is being ascertained from every shop in the district by the officers of the department that how much has been distributed and how much is left. Information is also being taken regarding the disposal of the remaining material. The role of food inspectors of the districts is also being decided in the matter. According to the Food Secretary, half of the shops have been investigated in the matter. The situation will be clear after the complete investigation.

module cut provision

Due to the problem in calculating the savings stock of the shops, from August to December 2022, fair price shops were allowed to store ration material under the allocation quantity released every month. In the Food Officer module, a provision was also made to reduce the ration material received every month on the basis of savings stock in the shops, so that there is no over stock in any shop.

this is the case

From January 2022 to December 2022, full quota was given to every ration shop, but the savings stock was not removed. In the allocation of rice, gram, sugar, jaggery and salt with the Food Department, the account of 68 thousand 930 metric tonnes of rice stock left in three thousand ration shops could not be found.
