After this, the police handed over the seized pickup along with the wood to the forest department for further action. The Forest Department has registered a case of illegal timber transportation without valid documents under the Forest Act in this matter. At present, the Forest Department has started action.

Please tell that in front of the police station, the police team was running a vehicle checking campaign. Under this, all the vehicles passing through there were being checked. During this, a plastic tarpaulin covered pickup vehicle number UP64 T 6285 reached there. Stopping whom, the policemen removed the tarpaulin and searched it and found that preparations were on to smuggle timber in large quantities. Which smugglers were taking to Ambikapur after filling it with Petla. When the police asked him for documents related to wood, he could not provide the documents. After this, the police seized the pickup along with the illegal wood and handed it over to the forest department for further action.

Action is being taken against the seized pickup

In this regard, Forest Range Officer Vijay Kumar Tiwari said that action is being taken against the seized pickup under the Forest Act. 13 pieces of timber of Khamhar species were found in the pickup. Against whom action has been taken under section 52 of the Indian Forest Act 1927.
