Raipur. A case of rape of a female clerk of AIIMS has come to light in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur. Retired colonel raped a woman and the name of the HOD of the engineering department in AIIMS has come to the fore. It is being told that he called the woman to the house on some pretext, then mixed alcohol in the cold drink. After this he carried out this incident.
The victim, a 40-year-old woman, has lodged a complaint with the Kabir Nagar police station. He told that his conversation with Rajesh Singh, HOD, Engineering Department of AIIMS used to happen in connection with work. Meanwhile he called me home in June 2022. There was no one at home at that time. Rajesh Singh was alone. The people of his house had gone out.
Rajesh Singh had given cold drink to the woman. After this the woman did not know anything. Later, when she regained consciousness, she came to know that she had been raped. On this the woman talked to Rajesh. Then Rajesh confessed that yes, he mixed alcohol in the cold drink and drank it.
The accused had apologized after the incident, hence was silent
The woman told that Rajesh Singh apologized to her after the incident. The woman became silent on this. He didn’t tell anyone about this. It was told in the complaint that Rajesh Singh was silent for a few months. But in December again he started trying to molest. During that time, Rajesh Singh sent obscene photo-videos on the woman’s phone. After this the woman complained to the AIIMS management.
Management did not take action even after complaining
The victim woman alleged that even after complaining, the management did not take any action against Rajesh Singh. Even after this, Rajesh Singh tried to force me. I told this to the management several times. Still no hearing took place. So now I have decided to complain.
The accused absconded as soon as the complaint was lodged
Police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of the woman. The search is on for the accused. But the accused is absconding. Information is also being collected about his family members. Police investigation has revealed that the woman is married. He also has a 10 year old child.
