Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has inaugurated the historical Congress building located at Gandhi Maidan after reconstruction. Congress AICC general secretary Kumari Selja was present as the chief guest in the event. State Congress President Mohan Markam presided over the programme. On the other hand, special guest state in-charge Dr. Chandan Yadav was there. Along with this, Saptagiri Shankar Ulka, co-incharge Vijay Jangid were present as special guests.
During this, CM Bhupesh Baghel said in his address that before independence our forefathers had started it on the day of Punni Mela. It started with a donation of a handful of rice and paddy. When this building was built in 1939, it was the biggest building in Raipur. People have an emotional attachment to this building. Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi and Sonia ji have all come to this building. There is a lot of historical heritage.
The way our ancestors started, we also started. We struggled for 15 years while being in the opposition. When the government was formed, we have resolved to build Rajiv Bhavan in all the districts. This building is the oldest as well as the newest. Everyone’s hard work paid off, I congratulate everyone.
