Bhilai- Police have arrested the fifth accused in the Mulkit Singh Murder Case in Khurshipar police station area. Accused Congress leader Shubham Sharma has been arrested. Before this, the police had arrested four accused. A Sikh youth was murdered four days ago. After which, on September 18, the Sikh Panchayat had called for the closure of Durg-Bhilai. Between 15th and 16th September, 7-8 people beat up Malkit Singh at ITI ground in Bhilai. The police have so far arrested 5 people including a minor regarding this issue. According to the information, the deceased Malkit Singh was watching the movie Ghadar 2. During this time deceased Malkit was raising slogans of Hindustan Zindabad. Meanwhile, there was a fight between the deceased and the accused and the dispute escalated so much that the accused killed Malkit. After getting information about the incident, he was admitted to the hospital. Where he died during treatment.

The family members of the deceased had demanded compensation of Rs 50 lakh and a government job to a member of the deceased’s family. For which the entire family was sitting on strike. In support of the Sikh community, BJP state president Arun Sao, former cabinet Prem Prakash Pandey, Durg MP Vijay Baghel, Bhilai Nagar MLA Devendra Yadav also reached the Khursipar protest site.
