Janjgir-Champa- The District Court has sentenced 25 convicts to life imprisonment in the case of murder of former sarpanch Teras Ram in Lachanpur village of Janjgir Champa district of Chhattisgarh. In which 4 women are also included. The former sarpanch was murdered on 12 June 2020. During this, the accused brutally killed the former sarpanch with sticks and bricks. After which he was murdered.
Why was the former Sarpanch murdered?

It is being told that Teras Ram, former sarpanch of village Lachhanpur, was once again contesting the election of sarpanch. Whereas Ram Gopal Sahu fielded his candidate against him. Due to electoral enmity, some people of the village killed former sarpanch Teras Ram Yadav. Women were also found among the people who were fighting, the people present there informed Teras’s brother Horilal about this. Tell me, Teras Ram was attacked with sticks and rods. Teras Ram died on the spot due to this attack. After which the Kotwali police registered an offense against the accused and took action against 25 people including 3 women.
What did the brother of the deceased ex-sarpanch see?
When Teras Ram’s brother Horilal reached the spot, he saw that his elder brother Ram Gopal Sahu, Ganesh Ram Sahu, Ganeshwar Rao, Prahlad Rao, Jageshwar Rao, Sukrit Rao, Pradeep, Mukund, Asant, Anuradha, Rahul, Shivnarayan, Manish were killed. Many people, including Paleshwar Sahu, Krishna Kumar, Pyarelal, Mukesh, Parmanand, were badly beaten with sticks. At that time former Sarpanch Teras Ram was seriously injured. When the brother and some people of the village came forward to save him, the accused also attacked them. Due to which they ran away from there in fear. Police was informed about the incident. After which the team of Dial 112 reached the spot, but by then former sarpanch Tejas was bleeding. Although Tejas Ram was brought to the district hospital. Where the doctors declared him dead.
The police had arrested 25 accused.
The police administration had registered a case against the accused under sections 147, 148, 149, 302, 323, 506, 34. After this, the police had arrested 25 accused. Four women were also involved in these. All were sent to jail in judicial custody. The police had also presented the charge sheet in the court, where they were declared accused and now 25 convicts have been sentenced to life imprisonment.
