Anish Puri Goswami / Mohla. In Chhattisgarh’s new district Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, a tusk elephant crushed a middle-aged man to death. On getting information about the incident, the government-administration team reached the family of the deceased on Monday morning. In fact, on August 11, 2022, after a large herd of 20 to 25 wild elephants killed two villagers in the Buffalo Board of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district, the rural and administrative staff residing in this Scheduled Tribe area moved from here to Maharashtra. Kuch was keeping an eye on the herd of elephants. Meanwhile, on Sunday, suddenly an adult tusk elephant, which arrived here from Balod side, crushed Dukhuram Dhawade, a resident of Pandarwani of Mohla development block, at midnight, causing his death. Regarding this incident, it is being told that an adult tusked elephant has entered the Ghubhiyagarh forest of Khadgaon area from Balod district. After this, the foundation work was being done by the Forest Development Corporation and Forest staff in the interior parts of Mohla and Manpur areas. Here, a group of 30 people from Pandarwani village had reached the nearby village Parasghat to prepare food for the wedding ceremony on Sunday. Last night between 10-11 pm, three-four people had gone to the drain near the village for defecation. Meanwhile, the tusk elephant attacked them. In this incident, a 55-year-old tribal Dukhuram Dhawade was crushed to death by a wild elephant.

After the incident, Mohla-Manpur MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Indra Shah Mandavi immediately reached the spot and alerted the officials. On the other hand, Collector S. Jayawardhan has issued instructions to the administrative and forest staff to take precautions for the safety of life and property, from tracking the dreaded elephant that has entered the district.
