Raipur. The Government of Chhattisgarh has brought about an education revolution in a way through Swami Atmanand Vidyalayas. Now a better environment is being created for school children of the state to study through English medium. A large number of talented children of poor and weaker sections are benefiting from the series of English schools started by the state government at the district headquarters and block level. These schools have gained popularity in a very short span of time. Swami Atmanand English medium school is being started by the state government along with English medium school. These schools have world class facilities.
247 Swami Atmanand English medium schools were opened
247 Swami Atmanand English medium schools and 32 Hindi medium schools are running in the state, while it is also proposed to run 422 schools from the next academic session. The newly proposed schools will include 252 schools in Surguja and Bastar divisions, so that children living in remote areas and backward areas can also study in English medium. Keeping in view the success of English medium schools, the state government has also decided to start English medium colleges from the next academic session.
Talented students from weaker sections are getting benefited
The popularity of Swami Atmanand schools can be gauged from the demand for these schools during the Chief Minister’s meet-meet programs and the fluency in English taught in these schools. With the start of these schools, parents of talented children from poor and weaker sections have got a lot of relief from the expensive fees of private schools. In these schools world class facilities, better educational environment are being provided along with education in English medium at nominal fees.
CBSE syllabus in both English and Hindi schools
The main objective of starting these schools by the state government is to provide quality education in English medium to the talented students of Chhattisgarh so that they do not lag behind the students of other states in competitive examinations. CBSE syllabus is being run in all English medium and Hindi medium schools.
State-of-the-art facilities for sports as well as studies
It is noteworthy that on July 3, 2020, Swami Atmanand School was first started in the state. About two and a half lakh children are studying in 247 schools started under the scheme. State-of-the-art library, language lab, computer and science lab as well as facilities for various sports including tennis and badminton have been made available in these schools.
