Bemetra. ADJ Pankaj Kumar Sinha of Bemetara District Court of Chhattisgarh has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment for the murder of an elderly couple. The great thing is that the court has given this decision within just four and a half months. On this entire matter, Additional Government Advocate Suraj Kumar Mishra said that, this incident took place on April 20, 2023 in village Seelaghat of Berla police station area, where the accused had murdered an elderly person for demanding loan amount. After which today the court has sentenced him.
In the conversation, he further told that accused Kanhaiya Markam had entered the house and murdered elderly Sukhiram Nishad and his wife Shyamwati Nishad with a sharp weapon. In which Berla police had arrested the accused. During investigation, it was found that the old man had lent money to Kanhaiya Markam but when the old man asked for the money, he murdered the old man and his wife. On which the police arrested the accused under Section 302 and presented him in the court. After a hearing that lasted for four and a half months, the court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000.
