Raipur. The National Convention of Congress has started in Nava Raipur from today. First of all, the meeting of the Steering Committee is being held. Different opinions of the leaders are coming out regarding the CWC elections. It is believed that some leaders want elections while there are some who do not want elections.
Background of half a dozen assembly and general elections
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in the meeting of the Streeing Committee that we have a chance to register Naya Raipur in history in such a way that it continues to show us the way in the times to come. In the history of Chhattisgarh, this Congress convention is taking place in the backdrop of assembly elections in half a dozen states and then general elections in 2024. This is a big challenge before us as well as a big opportunity.
There are a lot of decisions to be made collectively
Kharge said that you should keep your words openly and keeping the practical side in mind. Keep things that are directly related to public issues and which will send concrete messages and signals to the colleagues associated with GRASSROOT. We collectively have to take many decisions here, on which the future of our party and all of us is linked.
The eyes of the whole country on this convention
Our convention is being held at a time when many serious challenges are facing this country. Democracy and the Constitution are under threat. Parliamentary institutions are also facing a serious crisis. Political activities are also being monitored. In this regard, we have to think a lot and forward our views with facts because the eyes of the whole country are fixed on this convention.

first subject There is an election of CWC. As the Speaker, I just want to ask you all to speak openly and take a collective decision. The opinion of all of you will be mine and everyone’s opinion.
second subject That is to decide the agenda of the 85th Congress.
third subject To amend the constitution of the Congress Party. For this, the committee headed by Ambika Soniji will put before you the necessary amendment related suggestions. You have to consider this matter seriously and take a decision.
Last and most important agenda related to proposals. In this convention, 6 topics have been fixed for discussion. These subjects are;
1. political,
2. Economic,
3. International Affairs,
4. Farmers & Khet Mazdoor,
5. Social Justice
6. Youth Empowerment.
The Steering Committee has to discuss the 6 Draft Resolutions made on all these subjects. This is a very important work, which we have to do very seriously. Because in this both our understanding of the basic problems of the country and our foresight for the future will be seen.
