Collector said on the hostage of laborers – no laborers are hostages, they have voluntarily gone to Tamil Nadu

The statement of the district administration has come in the case of 14 laborers of Abujhmad area located in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh being taken hostage in Tamil Nadu. Collector Ajit Vasant has denied that the laborers are hostage. He told that no laborer from Abujhmad development block of Narayanpur district is hostage in Tamil Nadu. On behalf of the team of labor officers of the district, talks have been held with the laborers who went to work in Tamil Nadu from Narayanpur district and their scribe and company owner.

Workers visit Narayanpur regularly

After talking to 9 out of 14 laborers, they told that they have gone to Tamil Nadu voluntarily. They are not held hostage. Some of these laborers told that they have been working in Tamil Nadu for more than last 2 years and regularly commute to Narayanpur. The laborers who went to Tamil Nadu told the labor officials that they wanted to come home. Some of those laborers will come to their homes in Narayanpur on March 14 and some laborers by March 25.

These laborers told the labor department officials that they were not held hostage in any way and there was no restriction on their movement. In this regard, the company’s clerk Dinesh and the company’s owner Raja told the labor officials that the laborers who want to go home will be sent immediately.

It is notable that the Aam Aadmi Party had raised the issue of being held hostage. On this, Collector Ajit Vasant has clearly said that no laborer is hostage.
