City troubled by thieves: Traders’ Federation closed the city and demonstrated, took out a bike rally

Tekchand Karda-Takhatpur. Thefts are happening continuously in Takhatpur town of Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. Baba Pan Masala was stolen four times. Thieves stole goods worth about ₹10 lakh from here. After this, Pan Masala worth 70 thousand was stolen from the adjacent Mahadev Store Pan Masala shop. Traders Federation has closed Takhatpur on Tuesday, February 28, in protest against the continuous thefts and the police have not yet caught the thieves stealing pan masala.

The bandh was informed 3 days ago at Takhatpur police station and 2 days ago, memorandum was also submitted to SDM and Tehsildar. Despite this, the police have not yet caught the thieves. Anil Thakur, President of Traders Federation said that in the past, memorandum has been submitted to the administration many times regarding the thefts in the city. But till now the thieves are out of reach of the police.

CCTV cameras installed for security

People have also installed CCTV cameras for security. The thief is seen stealing live in the camera but the businessman is forced to watch his shop empty. Till now the police have interrogated many people regarding the thief but they have not got success. The Merchant Federation had given the police a deadline of 27 February. Due to this, the city has been closed on February 28. Since morning, the office bearers of the traders’ association kept visiting the city and protested by taking out a bike rally in the morning. The general meeting has been organized at 4 pm.
