Durg. Recently, a youth had jumped from the bridge of Shivnath river in Durg district of Chhattisgarh. The young man’s friends informed his family members and the local police about the matter. For the last two days, the SDRF team was searching in the river. After which a team of NDRF, SDRF and local fishermen found the body and took it out from the river. There are serious injury marks on the body of youth Umakant Sahu, the father has alleged that his son did not commit suicide, but was killed and thrown into the river. At present the police is also interrogating friends.

Actually, on Wednesday night of 6th September, Umankat Sahu had gone to his friend Kunal’s birthday party. Aditya Sahu, Gopal Dau, Saket Dewangan, Muskaan and another girl also went with him. Everyone had dinner together with friends at Humar Dhaba. Late at 12.38 in the night, Saket called his father Vishram Singh Sahu and informed him that Umakant had committed suicide by jumping into Shivnath. The father alleges that there are injury marks on his son’s body. He alleged that he was assaulted. From this it is clear that he did not commit suicide, rather he was killed and thrown into the river. The father has appealed to the police administration to properly investigate the matter and give strict punishment to the accused.

According to Umakant’s father Vishram Sahu, his watch, purse, mobile, handkerchief and glasses were found kept at the place of the bridge from where Umakant had jumped. A person who commits suicide does not keep his things safe before dying. They allege that his four friends first murdered him and then kept his belongings there. Vishram Sahu alleges that Umakant did not eat food even in the dhaba and went out with a bullet to return home alone. After that his friends Saket Dewangan and Kunal followed him in another car, later Saket told that instead of going to the big bridge, Umakant went towards the small bridge. They saw him jumping into the river. At present the police is also interrogating friends.
