Jagdalpur. In Chhattisgarh, another Indian Administrative Service officer is preparing to enter active politics. In this episode, Special Secretary level officer Neelkanth Tekam has applied for VRS. It is being said that Tekam can join the BJP.

Neelkanth Tekam, a 2008 batch IAS officer, has been the Kondagaon collector. He is on the post of director treasury and accounts. According to ministry sources, Tekam has applied for VRS. Has sought VRS (Voluntary Retirement) due to personal reasons with three months notice. While he has 4 years left for his retirement. The General Administration Department is examining his application.

Joining BJP can contest election from Keshkal

Special Secretary level officer Tekam will retire in the year-2027. There is talk that Tekam may join the BJP. It is being said that Keshkal can contest from the seat. The BJP has been facing defeat from the Keshkal seat for the last two consecutive elections. In such a situation, there is a discussion that the party can make Tekam a candidate.

Tekam is the second IAS after the formation of Chhattisgarh state, who is leaving the job and joining politics. Before him, OP Chaudhary also left the job of IAS and joined politics. He was contested by the BJP from Kharsia, in which he had to face defeat. OP Chowdhary is currently holding the responsibility of General Secretary in the state BJP.
