Amid preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, 22 national and state officials of Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas faction (LJPR) have resigned. Party officials were angry with Chirag Paswan’s decision to select the candidates. These workers say that Chirag has given preference to outsiders instead of dedicated party workers.

Why are Chirag’s party leaders angry?
Among the leaders who left Chirag Paswan’s party, there is resentment over rebel MP Veena Devi being given ticket from Vaishali once again. After this decision of the party leadership, there has been a wave of resignations of officials at both national and state levels. Leaders who left LJPR include party national vice president Renu Kushwaha, national general secretary Satish Kumar and state vice president Sanjay Singh. The resignation of these leaders is a serious blow to the party. The leader who left the party is also accusing Chirag Paswan of selling tickets.

Chirag Paswan recently announced candidates for five seats, in which Chirag Paswan himself will contest from Hajipur. Along with this, Veena Singh from Vaishali and Arun Bharti from Jamui have been made candidates, due to which the dissatisfaction has increased further. The result coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Jamui, where Paswan’s party faces a challenging electoral battle.
