The CBI called RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son and Bihar’s deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav for questioning in the matter of giving jobs in railways in exchange of land, but he refused to come. This is the second time when Tejashwi Yadav did not come for questioning even after the summons was issued. However, Tejashwi Yadav has also informed the CBI about not appearing today. However, the action against other close friends of Lalu Yadav is continuing.
According to media reports, on February 4, the CBI had issued summons to Tejashwi Yadav for questioning. During that time Tejashwi did not appear before the investigating agency. After this, the CBI again issued summons to Tejashwi Yadav for questioning today. Despite being issued summons for the second time, Tejashwi did not turn up for questioning. He told CBI that I am in the hospital with my wife. Therefore, he has expressed his inability to be available for questioning.
Nitish Kumar targeted BJP
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has targeted the BJP over raids by central agencies on opposition leaders including Tejashwi Yadav. He said that such raids were also done in 2017, due to which JDU and RJD were separated. Now five years have passed, when RJD and JDU have come together again, the raids have started again.
ED took action on Friday
The Enforcement Directorate on Friday raided the Delhi residence of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s aides and other places including Patna, Ranchi and Mumbai in connection with money laundering at 24 places and questioned them for over 10 hours. The names of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Ragini Yadav, Chanda Yadav and Hema Yadav are included in the residence of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s close relatives who were raided by the ED. Apart from this, a team of ED also reached Patna Phulwari Sharif of Abu Dujana, close to Lalu, in exchange of land and IRCTC case.
Interrogation of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi
Lalu Prasad Yadav was questioned by the CBI for about five hours at his daughter Misa’s residence in Delhi in the IRCTC and land-for-job case. At the same time, Lalu Yadav’s wife and former Bihar CM Rabri Devi was questioned on Monday at her Patna residence in the same case.
