Bihar News: The Supreme Court has sentenced former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Prabhunath Singh to life imprisonment in the 1995 Mashrakh double murder case.
The Supreme Court convicted him on August 18, overturning the verdict of a lower court in Patna as well as the High Court. With this, the Supreme Court had said that this case was an exceptionally painful episode of our criminal justice system.
Let us inform that former RJD MP Prabhunath Singh was acquitted in this case by the lower court of Patna in the year 2008. After this, the victim’s brother appealed in the Patna High Court regarding the matter. In 2012, the Patna High Court also upheld the decision of the lower court. After this, the victim’s brother approached the Supreme Court.
