Women Reservation Bill: Modi Cabinet approved the Women’s Reservation Bill last Monday. PM Narendra Modi had called a cabinet meeting on the first day of the special session of Parliament. In this meeting, the Center has decided that the Women’s Reservation Bill will be presented in Parliament. This is a historic decision of Modi government. The opposition was continuously demanding the implementation of this bill, finally the Modi cabinet has taken a decision on it. Today i.e. on Tuesday, the Women’s Reservation Bill will be presented in the House.

Women will get 33 percent reservation

According to media reports, after the passing of this bill, 33% reservation will be given to women. After this, 33 percent seats will be reserved for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. Due to this, the mathematics of many states will be changed in the upcoming elections. Let us tell you that currently 78 women members have been elected in the Parliament, which is less than 15 percent of the total number of 543. Last year, the government had shared a figure in the Parliament, under which the representation of women in the Rajya Sabha is also around 14 percent.
